The Grand Tour Announces New Hosts

Amazon Prime’s The Grand Tour, it hit automotive and travel show originally hosted by the Top Gear trio, announced the show will be returning with 3 new, younger hosts. The move while not unexpected, formalizes the return of the show with new hosts.
Francis Bourgeois will team up with James Engelsman and Thomas Holland to host the new rendition of the show. Engelsman and Holland are the creators of the popular Throttle House YouTube channel. In an interesting twist, Bourgeois is a well known train enthusiast. Whether this is a hint at a perhaps more travel centric show remains to be seen.
Amazon said Season 7 will feature “the show’s legacy while driving it into a new era.” Its reported the show will Angola, Malaysia and California, test driving cars and taking part in challenges.
Obviously, the ultimate question here is will it fair better than Top Gear did post Clarkson, May and Hammond? While Top Gear ultimately found some success after a few fits and starts, as well as host changes, the show ultimate was shelved after a series of “stunts” lead to serious injury to one of them.
Much like Top Gear became one of the most watched shows on the BBC, The Grand Tour was one of the most popular unscripted (*cough*) shows on Prime globally. However, the original Trio called it quits citing health and age seasons.
No specific release date for Season 7 as announced, but has been referred to as “later this year”, so we’d expect to get to see the new hosts first hand before the end of 2026.
