Traction Partners With Lara Vernon For Hyperfest 2025 At VIR

At Traction, it’s always been important to us to support the car and racing community in a real way. Not only are we out here participating in the very things we help enable our customers to do; as a business, we support local organizers, operators and racers as often as we can.
For Traction, we feel this partnership with Lara Vernon presents a unique opportunity to activate our brand at a compelling event with a compelling brand ambassador, who also happens to be well qualified participant. Lara will be competing with her race prepped Corvette in the NASA National racing event portion of Hyperfest.

As car nerds, track junkies and motorsports participants ourselves, we are best at solving problems for enthusiasts because we likely have had to solve those same problems for ourselves. We don’t just talk about the cars and the car scene. We also run events, groups, communities and have an online publication that all work together to help to get people get plugged in, learn, and most importantly- go out and do more cool things with their cars. Part of this is a group we created called Shift Women. This is a space working to build an enabled and empowered community of women connected by the love of motorsports.
Lara also owns a business called Rare Exotic Vehicles (REV), which started in 2016. It’s a small independent dealership with a focus on enthusiast cars, new and old. She buys the types of cars and trucks that she would want to drive myself, and curates a collection of inventory that would get any car guy/gal’s heart pumping.
Here at Traction, it’s unusual that have the ability to partner with individual cars or racers, but Lara is one of those rare drivers who has a truly special set of skills, vision and desire to share her knowledge and make things better. To this end, Traction is so excited to announce our partnership with Lara Vernon for Hyperfest 2025.
Currently, Lara competes in her 2002 Chevy Corvette Z06. This car has a long history of competing in and winning races. Now, we will see what kind of magic Lara can make with it this upcoming weekend at VIR.
About Lara Vernon

Last year, we started sponsoring ladies gatherings at Lucky Dog Racing League (LDRL) races here in the southeast. The owner of this fantastic series, a tough but amazingly kind woman by the name of Cathy Fuss, helped craft a space for women to meet and get to know each other. This resulted in a super diverse group of women drivers, pit crew, photographers, pit marshals, flaggers, race staff, vendors and supporters bonding around a common idea, if only for an hour or two. This, as it turns out is how we really got to know series participant and endurance racer, Lara Vernon.
Much like ourselves, Lara is passionate about racing and enabling others, women in particular. She has offered her time and energy to share her experiences to help improve those around her. She has some amazing skills and her willingness to share that knowledge drew us straight to her.
When we first met Lara, we shared this dream of empowering more women to get out to the track. It didn’t matter if those women watched on tv, tailgated while spectating, hit an open track day or tried their hand at wheel to wheel. She immediately offered to help. She knows, as we do, that a lot of efforts to get women to the track have fallen flat. Just creating a space wasn’t enough. It’s going to take more work than that and she was ready to roll up her sleeves. This is how we knew she was our kind of person.
One thing we know with certainty is that for women to be able to picture themselves participating in any sort of track or motorsports event, it helps so much to actually see other women out there doing it. Making Lara’s racing journey more visible is one way we can do just that. Here is a woman who started like so many of us- playing video games. Her “let’s just go try it and see what happens” attitude took her from an autocross event in a borrowed car to racing on an endurance team (and keeping pace with!) with Randy Probst in just a few short years. And now, here she is building on all that experience in her own car and under her own flag.
