All New Corvette ZR1 Sets Production Car Lap Records At 5 Tracks

The all new Corvette ZR1 has set production car lap records at 4 tracks featuring 5 layouts, Chevrolet announced recently. This was no small feat, particularly because Chevrolet did not use professional drivers to set the lap records. But rather members of the product development team.
The lap records were set across a variety of tracks in the United Stated, including iconic tracks such as Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Road America and Virginia International Raceway (VIR). The vehicle was outfitted with the optional ZTK performance package, which includes Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires.

What’s amazing is several local Road Atlanta pros noted that despite setting a lap record it seemed likely a professional driver could have shaved several additional seconds off of the lap times.
