For the first time in its history, Luftgekühlt is bringing its celebrated air-cooled Porsche gathering to the Atlanta area. Luft 12 lands at Town at Trilith in Fayetteville, Georgia, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, marking the next chapter in the event’s rapid expansion beyond its Southern California roots.

A Quick History: What Is Luftgekühlt?

Luftgekühlt — German for “air-cooled” and pronounced “looft-guh-kyoolt” — is one of the premier automotive lifestyle events in the world, built strictly around celebrating the history and culture of air-cooled Porsches. It was founded by two-time Le Mans class winner Patrick Long together with creative director Howie Idelson, and has grown from a niche Southern California gathering into a global phenomenon.

What sets Luftgekühlt apart from a conventional car show is its format. Rather than lining vehicles up in neat rows on a fairground, the event blends the cars themselves with art, design, music, and culture, treating each host location as a character in the story rather than just a parking lot. That philosophy has carried through as the event has expanded from California to new markets, including last year’s East Coast debut in Durham, North Carolina (Luft 11), which set the stage for this next move south.

Several threads came together to make Atlanta the natural next stop:

• Porsche’s American home base. Atlanta has proximity to the headquarters of Porsche Cars North America and the Porsche Experience Center, giving the event a direct, symbolic tie to the brand at its core.
• A racing pedigree the team already knows. The Luftgekühlt team has previously produced multiple event experiences at the nearby Road Atlanta circuit in Braselton, Georgia, and the track is inextricably tied to Porsche, having hosted decades of Porsche Club racing victories since being founded in 1970.
• Motorsport timing. The 10-hour Petit Le Mans & IMSA WeatherTech Championship finale at Road Atlanta will mark its 29th annual running on October 3, the week before Luftgekühlt 12, effectively bookending back-to-back weekends of Porsche and motorsport energy in the region.
• Atlanta’s own automotive ties. Corporate giants such as Coca-Cola have long been associated with Porsche’s racing legacy, having backed iconic race cars like the 935 and 962, giving the city genuine motorsport history of its own beyond hosting a track.
• Accessibility. Atlanta’s central location and one of the busiest, best-connected airports in the world give convenient access to fans traveling from across the U.S. and internationally.

What Makes This Luft Edition Unique

Luft 12 leans hard into Porsche racing anniversaries this year. Guests can expect a celebration of several racing milestones, including 75 years of Porsche in motorsports, alongside a thoughtfully curated collection of historically significant race cars, iconic air-cooled road cars, preservation vehicles, and standout examples from private collections around the world.

This year’s official Luft 12 event poster pays tribute to Porsche’s racing heritage, featuring the iconic Whittington Brothers’ 1979 Porsche 935 K3 — one of the marque’s most recognizable competition cars — marking its 50th anniversary year.

The venue itself is also part of the story. Town at Trilith is a walkable, cinema-adjacent community (built alongside Trilith Studios) known for its architecture and creative energy — officials describe it as reflecting “the brand’s continued commitment to pairing exceptional automobiles with architecturally and culturally significant destinations that elevate the overall event experience.”

Saturday, October 10 — Luft 12 Main Event

• 10:00 AM — General Admission opens
